MICRO EXCAVATORS

Micro Excavator Rentals in Connecticut and Massachusetts

Micro excavators are small but they punch above their weight. They are built for jobs where a bigger machine would cause more damage than it fixes. Think tight city lots, indoor work, and neighborhood utility jobs, anywhere space is an issue.

Rubber tracks keep finished surfaces safe. Add a bucket, auger, or breaker and one small machine handles a lot. The micro lineup includes Wacker Neuson, IHI, and Kato units, including the Kato 17VXE electric excavator. The fleet is clean, well kept, and ready to go from South Windsor, CT and West Springfield, MA.

MINI EXCAVATORS

Mini Excavator Rentals in Connecticut and Massachusetts

Mini excavators are the workhorse of the rental fleet. They cover the widest range of jobs: utility trenching, landscaping, site prep, pipe laying, and light demo. If you are not sure what size you need, a mini excavator is usually the right starting point for the conversation.

Able Tool carries Wacker Neuson mini excavators and can pair you with the right size for your project. Contact us to check current availability and talk through the specs.

MIDI EXCAVATORS

Midi Excavator Rentals in Connecticut and Massachusetts

When a mini is not quite enough, midi excavators step up. You get more reach, more lift, and more dig depth without going full size. Road and bridge crews use them for grading and prep work. Utility crews rely on them when the pipe gets bigger and the trench gets deeper. They still fit on most job sites without a headache.

Contact us to ask about midi availability in CT and MA.

BATTERY / ELECTRIC EXCAVATORS

Battery-Powered Excavator Rentals in Connecticut and Massachusetts

Able Tool is one of the only dealers in CT and MA who stocks and rents battery excavators. Zero emissions. No fumes. Lower fuel cost. They charge anywhere.

That matters on indoor jobs, tunnel work, sites near water, and projects with air quality rules. A lot of town and state bids now require zero-emission equipment, and that trend is only going one direction. Renting battery from Able Tool keeps you in the running for those contracts.

Kato Electric Excavators

Kato electric excavators are part of the battery lineup, alongside IHI units. Kato’s battery models are built for zero-emission, quiet work near schools, homes, and other sites close to the public, which is where noise and emissions rules tend to bite. Able Tool rents them and knows how to service them when something goes wrong. That last part is rarer than you would think.

Zero Emissions
Indoor Ready
Lower Operating Cost
Quiet Operation
No Noise Ordinance Issues
Meets Municipal Emission Rules
No Battery Memory
Charge Anywhere

WHEEL EXCAVATORS

Wheel Excavator Rentals in Connecticut and Massachusetts

Wheel excavators drive on paved roads without a trailer. Road and bridge crews love them, and utility teams use them too. They dig just as well as a tracked machine, but if your crew is shifting locations multiple times a day, a wheel excavator can save you real time and cut down on transport costs.

Contact us to ask about wheel excavator availability in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

The Last of a Dying Breed

Big rental yards have thousands of machines and one 800 number. Able Tool has a focused fleet, a team that knows every unit it rents, and an owner who picks up the phone. That is a very different deal.

Service and Parts on Every Machine

When your excavator goes down at 7am on a job in Glastonbury, you do not want to wait on hold. Able Tool carries parts for every machine in the fleet, and the service team works fast to get you back on the job. That is standard, not an add-on.

Locally Owned. Owner on Call.

The owner and the team make decisions on the spot. No corporate chain. No approval process. Pricing, terms, and rental length stay flexible because Able Tool answers to its customers, not a quarterly report.

Newer Fleet. Better Condition.

The rental fleet is newer and in better shape than most in the market. You are not getting beat-up equipment that was already halfway done before it left the yard. Clean, reliable machines show up to your site. Every time.

Specialty Gear Others Don't Stock

Battery excavators from Kato and IHI, wheel excavators, and micro units for tight spots. Most rental yards do not carry them and do not know them. Able Tool stocks them and services them. That is the whole point of being a specialty dealer.

Excavator Rental FAQs

What size excavator do I need for my project?

It depends on the work. Micro units are best for tight spots, city lots, and indoor jobs. Mini excavators cover most utility work and site prep. Midi machines are for deep digs, heavier loads, and road work. Not sure where your job fits? Call us. We have spec’d gear for road, utility, and concrete crews for years and we will point you in the right direction fast.

Do you deliver excavators to job sites in Connecticut?

We deliver rental excavators to job sites across Connecticut and western Massachusetts from our locations in South Windsor, CT and West Springfield, MA. Call us to talk through delivery logistics, timing, and your site location.

What are the benefits of renting a battery-powered excavator?

Battery excavators make zero emissions and run quietly. They cost less to operate than diesel and you can charge them anywhere. They are the right call for indoor work, tunnel jobs, sites near water, and any project with air quality rules. Many town and state contracts now require them. Able Tool is one of the few local dealers in CT and MA who stocks and services these machines, including Kato and IHI battery units, so if something goes wrong, you are calling someone who knows it.

What is the difference between a wheel excavator and a tracked excavator?

Tracked excavators are the go-to for rough, soft, or uneven terrain. They give you the most stability on tough ground. Wheel excavators drive on paved roads without a trailer, which makes them a strong choice for road and bridge crews and utility teams that move between sites often throughout the day. If you are shifting locations a lot, the time savings add up fast.

What happens if the excavator breaks down during my rental?

You call us. We have a full service team and carry parts for every machine in our rental fleet. You are not getting routed to a call center. You are calling a team that knows the machine and wants to get you back on the job fast. Downtime costs you money, and we know that.

Do you offer flexible rental terms for contractors?

We are a locally owned shop and we make our own calls on pricing, terms, and rental length. So, yes, we absolutely offer flexibility! There is no corporate chain to wait on. We understand contractor cash flow and project timelines. Fill out our form or call us and we will work out something that fits your job.

Can I rent an excavator for a municipal or state contract job in Connecticut?

Yes. We work with town highway departments, public utilities, and contractors running jobs under state and municipal contracts throughout Connecticut. We take part in state contract and municipal programs. Check our State Contracts and Municipal Programs pages for details, or just call us and we will talk through what your job requires.

Does Able Tool carry Kato excavators?

Yes. Able Tool carries Kato electric excavators, including the Kato 17VXE, alongside Wacker Neuson and IHI units. Kato electric models are a good fit for zero-emission jobs, indoor work, and sites near schools and homes. Call us to check current availability.
