When the crew needed a safer, more efficient way to remove overhead mechanical systems, escalators, elevators and structural components inside the former Sears building, Able Tool & Equipment helped develop a specialized rental solution built around the job.
By pairing a Wacker Neuson ET65 compact excavator with a DARDA shear/crusher attachment, the crew was able to tackle overhead demolition directly from the excavator seat — reducing labor at elevation, minimizing material handling and improving production. When the scope shifted from steel cutting to concrete demolition, we quickly changed out the attachment so the team could keep moving.
It’s a great example of what we aim to do every day: provide the right equipment, the right solution and the support contractors need to get difficult jobs done safely and efficiently.
